AIIB Project Office Holds Safety Workshop for Shop Owners
2017-03-28

To enhance the safety measures and communication with the shop owners at the AIIB Office Building for better service, the AIIB Project Office held a Workshop on Safety for Shop Owners on afternoon, 18 January 2017, participated by 25 representatives and officers in charge from the affiliated businesses. During the workshop, the Statement on Business Housing Safety was signed between the Project Office and shop owners whilst the two sides exchanged New Year gifts.

The workshop took place at 2 p.m., starting with fire hazard prevention, when the chief safety officer made a PPT presentation on the fire alarm system, fire hazard prevention rules, early fire fighting methods and self-rescue. It was followed by the security director’s presentation on points of note and safety requirements regarding fire prevention, internal and public security and traffic safety, in the hope that the contents of the presentation would be passed on to each and every employee of the affiliated shops so concerted efforts could be made for the sake of the AIIB Building safety. During the dialogue session, the Project Officer began by thanking the shop owners for their support and understanding in the past year. He said the high customer satisfaction rate for 2016 could never have been possible without the contribution of the affiliated businesses. In the New Year, it was planned that another customer satisfaction survey would be conducted to have the comments of all the AIIB employees and it was hoped that the business owners would make an effort to improve service quality for satisfactory results to lay down a good foundation for the relocation to the permanent Head Office in the future. Last year, the Project Office, working together with the shop owners, organized customer reach-out activities in the form of experience classes on coffee appreciation, ikebana (flower arrangement), yoga, pumpkin carving, among other, which were well received. It was envisaged that deeper cooperation with the shop owners would take place to further improve service quality in 2017. Upon the opening of the Level 5 Cafeteria, efforts for pest control and tidiness would be stepped up. The Project Office again thanked the shop owners for their understanding and tolerance when, as a newly opened building, there were still some instabilities in the supporting facilities, such as heating. The shop owners were welcome to offer their comments and opinions for better performance.

Representatives of the shop owners spoke to thank the Project Office for its care and concern. A senior officer from the Café Mall gave his appreciation for the good communications and interactions with the Project Office for the tea-break activities. Today, his shop was seeing very brisk business and was all set for Level 5 Cafeteria operations. He was confident to offer safe and satisfying food to the customers and it was hoped, working together with the Project Office, to present workshops on Chinese classic musical instrument and cooking. A senior official from the FEELING fitness studio remarked that he would also like to collaborate with the Project Office to offer customers experience classes. A commercial bank officer thanked the Project Office for its assistance in bank service tutoring and customer feedback. The laundry shop owner said that his store planned to launch one preferential item in every month of 2017 as well as group preferential deals for the AIIB employees. The Akuwa Hairstyle promised to make more efforts in language training so as to offer the customers better services.

As the Chinese New Year was just around the corner, the Project Office prepared New Year gifts for the shop owners, when the two sides exchanged seasonal greetings and presents. The workshop came to a jubilant and cordial close at 4 p.m.
