The HSC Youth Conference 2016 and Star of
Youth Award presenting ceremony were held at the Function Room of the
Liangmaqiao Diplomatic Office Building on afternoon of 10 January 2017.
Some 120 youth delegates and senior BSB,
HSC and departmental executives took part in the event. Ms. Jiang Qi, BSB executive
deputy director general, Mr. Zhang Yue, Miss Lin Li and Mr. Liu Yong, HSC general
and deputy general managers, graced the occasion with their presence.
As an innovative move, the annual youth
conference was held jointly with the first Star of Youth Award presentation
ceremony. Cao Jingtong, HSC youth league secretary launched the event with a
retrospect of the youth league operation 2016, covering the political awareness
campaign, Olsen Targeted Outward Bound Training, AIIB Volunteer Service, HSC
Open Day, Wardrobe of Love - a charitable event - and Star of Youth election,
among others, which was well received and acclaimed by the young employees and senior
executives.
Awards were presented to 32 winners of the Star
of Youth title by the top BSB and HSC leaders and youth league secretaries of
various departments. Wang Cheng from Jianwai DRC, Li Jin from financial
department, Ma Qun from Aojie Company, Hu Xiaomeng from Liangmaqiao Property Management
and Liu Zijian from AIIB Project Office shared their experiences of growth and
advancement in the past year as winners of the Star of Expertise, Star of Expert,
Star of Quality Service and Star of Innovation, respectively, uttering gratitude
for the acknowledgment and showcased how they made the achievements with pragmatic
and dedicated efforts.
Following the award presentation, Miss Lin
Li, who is in charge of the youth affairs, addressed the occasion by saying
that the speeches delivered by the winners’ were very well presented, covering
all the aspects to highlight the bright spots of HSC developments in the past
year. She appreciated the youth league committees’ work in support of the “CPC
building” as well as the development of the young employees and HSC and pointed
out that none of the achievements would have been possible without the BSB and
HSC leadership’s endorsement and inspiration, departmental executives’ cooperation
and assistance and youth league secretaries’ efforts as well as the youths’ support
in entirety.
She continued that, 2016 being an
extraordinary year, important events such as the Inspection, Qijiayuan Renovation
Project, Business Tax Conversion into Value-added Tax and Property Tax Reform
took place, amidst which HSC brought in revenues of RMB1.21 billion to reach
the 10-year goal ahead of time. None of that would have been possible without
the young employees’ hard work and efforts. Greater tests were likely to come
up in the next year, which would bring along opportunities and challenges to
the youth, who were expected to continue to play their roles of forerunners and
contribute to the development of the corporation, leaving their footprints in
the DRC history with pride.
Ms. Jiang Qi spoke towards the end to look
back on the events in the past year, from the PR & Sales Department’s Singing
Contest for Diplomats to the Star of Youth Award, giving full appreciation for
the young employees’ noticeable spontaneity and creativity. She emphasized that
the youth was HSC’s hope and future, as their aptitude and competence would
determine the corporation’s tomorrow. Bearing pioneerism in mind, the DRC
youths should go forward with self-confidence, pragmatism and aspiration.
She
appealed to the young colleagues to aim high and make continuous efforts,
through book learning and learning from each other to acquire experiences; be
ready to listen and draw lessons; and be adaptive to the circumstances, without
narrow-minded self-seeking or whining about. Thus, they could always expect to
receive extra help. They should endeavor to make their marriage work and family
happy, cherishing familial values and support; be ready to make a lot of friends
and enrich their life experiences to make their happiness last longer. They must
learn to cope with adversities and frustrations with calm and resilience; be
alert and take every opportunity to improve themselves.
Finally,
Ms. Jiang said that the HSC was ready to face new challenges and win new
battles in the coming year, as it would strive to bring hearty service to the
customers and make it indispensible in their daily lives. With common efforts
of the youths, the HSC would for sure see a better year in 2017.
The
top executives’ heartening remarks touched and inspired the youngsters so much
that they vowed to make greater efforts with passion and confidence in the upcoming
year to write a new chapter in the DRC growth and development with high morale
and collective endeavors, under the leadership of the youth league committee.
