The Beijing Guo Yi Hui Hospital Management Company (Guo Yi Hui) held the launching ceremony of the Health Day for Diplomats and concurrently the Chaoyang International Chinese Medicine Network at 16 Liangmahe Nanlu on 12 December, 2016, with the assistance provided by the HSC. The event was attended by some 200 senior diplomats and representatives from international organizations and offices of foreign news agencies as well as their families, including Ambassadors of Cyprus, Serbia, Grenada, Bosnia Herzegovina and Armenia and diplomats from some 80 countries such as Canada, Japan, Italy, Spain and New Zealand. Ms. Jiang Qi, BDS Executive Deputy Director General, and top HSC executives also took part in the event.
Zhang Hailan, Chair of Board of Directors of Guo Yi Hui, delivered a welcoming speech, stating that his company was more than willing to provide quality and comfortable medical services to all clients and promote traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Mr. Sun Qijun, Vice Chief of Chaoyang District (in charge of education, culture, health, tourism and foreign affairs) spoke on behalf of the local government, pointing out that as a demonstration area of traditional Chinese medicine, the district was devoted to pushing forward the internationalization of TCM. To promote TCM to foreign residents in the district, particularly diplomats, was always an important part of the district government’s agenda.
The Cyprus Ambassador spoke on behalf of the diplomatic corps, saying that, as a resident working and living in the DRC, he had witnessed the tremendous efforts made by the BDS and the HSC in elevating the quality of life of the foreign diplomats. He said he was fortunate to have taken the Chinese Medicine Experience Tour to Sanya arranged by the DRC last year and witnessed in person the marvels of TCM treatments. Today’s event offered the best chance for the guests to come in close contact with the Chinese medicine and culture. Ms. Jiang delivered an address on the occasion to welcome the guests. She recalled last year’s pleasant tour of Sanya, Hainan Province, which received massive acclaim from the diplomats who had hoped similar opportunities could be offered also in Beijing. She anticipated that diplomats in Beijing would experience an increase in wellbeing through Guo Yi Hui and Chaoyang Chinese Medicine Network’s “crossover” services. Eventually, she hoped that the guests would enjoy a great TCM experience tour to increase understanding of and interest in the traditional medicine as well as personal wellbeing.
Senior officials from the national and municipal Chinese medicine administrative departments were also present who joined Ms. Jiang, the Cyprus Ambassador and Mr. Sun to press down the “crystal ball” to launch the Health Day for Diplomats and the Chaoyang International Chinese Medicine Network. After the launching ceremony, the guests were invited to experience traditional treatments and massage and acupuncture therapies, and were provided with specialist consultation, health assessment, and beauty and health advice. They also visited the Chinese medicine exhibition to learn more about the Chinese pharmaceutical industry, the tea art and the incense burning practice. The Cyprus Ambassador was provided with health consultation by a senior Chinese medicine doctor and Ambassadors of Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbian, Grenada and Nigeria all expressed strong interest in the Chinese medicine after experiencing the treatments, being amazed at the wondrous treatment results.
The event was aimed to integrate the resources of the HSC and its clients to enhance the DRC brand name through collaboration with DRC associated business owners for win-win results. As a bridge via which to promote the Chinese medicine, the event offered a chance for DRC’s diplomatic residents to experience the phenomenal Chinese medicine and demonstrate the HSC’s innovation and creativity. It is believed that more and more diplomats will become DRC fans.
The success of the event owes tremendously
to the support of the BDS-HSC leadership and the cooperation provided by other related
departments such as the Tayuan DRC Property Management and Fire Prevention and
Security Departments. Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our
heartiest thanks.
