Service for Better and Friendly Cooperation between Civilizations: Greek Ambassador Calls on BDS Director General

Mr. Yuan Weimin, Director General of the BDS, met with the new Greek Ambassador to China, H.E. Rokanas Leonidas, and his wife on 17 October, 2016, accompanied by Miss Lin Li, Deputy General Manager of the HSC, Mr. Wang Deyang and Mr. Song Guang, Manager and Deputy Manager of the Public Relations & Sales Department. 

The Ambassador first thanked Mr. Yuan for meeting with him and then discussed issues with regard to the plan of renovating and upgrading the current Embassy buildings and looking for a residence in the DRC and an independent compound for rent in which the Embassy chancery and residence can both be located. 

Mr. Yuan provided answers and explanations on the issues raised by the Ambassador, recommending the Jianwai Media Center as an option of residence. He added that specialists would be contacted for discussion about the renovation of the Embassy buildings. As the MFA and the BDS were working together to develop the 4^th Embassy Zone project, it could be one of the options for the Embassy to apply for a plot of land for constructing the new chancery in the Zone. The Ambassador thanked Mr. Yuan for the information and suggestions. Mr. Yuan remarked that the BDS was always ready to work with the Embassy to push forward the bilateral relations between the two countries, following the BDS motto of “Serving the Diplomatic Corps in Beijing”.
