The Property
Management Department of the Qijiayuan DRC organized an excursion for the
tenants to go to the BDS farm at Zhangjiawan for veggie picking and recreational
angling on 26 June, as the month is regarded as the harbinger of summer time.
To ensure the
success of the event, the Property Management Department effectively communicated
with the farm to set forth the schedule and sent staff to the tenants’
residence to inform them of the schedule of the excursion. The event received
very positive response, as the nearly 40 participants included the Surinamese
Ambassadress, Sri Lankan Minister, Angolan Counselor, Pakistani Minister, Azerbaijan
Military Attaché and journalists from the Kyodo News and Australian Broadcasting
Corporation, together with their families. Mr. Huang Debiao from the Fire
Prevention and Security Department and Huang Xiang from the Public Relations
& Sales Department also went on the excursion.
The summer heat
added to, instead of dampen, the participants’ enthusiasm as they set out at 9
a.m. for the BDS farm. The persimmon trees on the roadside and the red
tomatoes, purple egg plants and green chili peppers in the green houses greeted
the visitors who were about to start a productive day. After the bags were
filled with fresh veggies, the participants were led to the fish pond.
Everybody, regardless of age or gender, threw oneself wholeheartedly into the game,
waiting patiently for the fish to bite the bait. The Military Attaché from the
Azerbaijan Embassy proved to be a top performer by catching 5 big fishes altogether.
Before the lunch was served, Wang Hongyan,
Property Management Department Manager, thanked the tenants for taking part in
the event and their understanding and support over the years. Some of the
participants were tenants from Buildings 9, 10, and 11, who have moved into the
eastern part of the DRC temporarily as a result of the efforts made jointly by
the Property Management and Public Relations & Sales Departments, as their
old homes were being renovated. The tenants were very satisfied with the fact
that they could continue to stay within the same compound and thanked the HSC
for inviting them to the excursion. The Minister from the Sri Lankan Embassy
who had recently moved into Building 2, in particular, extended her appreciation
for the considerate arrangements made by the Property Management Department.
She said she would like to thank the HSC for giving the chance for the tenants
to learn and understand more about the Corporation. The Property Management Department
promised to provide the best possible services in the future so as to ensure
she would enjoy her life in Beijing.
All efforts have
been made to meet the needs of the tenants during the period when the DRC compound
was renovated, including installing double-glazed windows and organizing
customer relations events. So far, the events are very well received and highly
appreciated, as the tenants told the Property Management Department that they
were very contented with the fun and such meaningful experiences. The recent
Chinese language classes organized by the Property Management Department for
the tenants are proved to be very popular, as numerous senior diplomats, such
as the Lesotho Ambassador, Angolan Ambassador and wife, Sri Lankan Minister and
Togolese Counselor, among others, have been registered to attend the classes. Their
communication and interaction with the teacher on issues of common interest
helped strengthen the relationship between the tenants and the Property
Management Department.
Considerate
services were delivered to alleviate the summer heat, create fun for the
tenants’ after hours and build a platform of exchanges between the Property
Management Department and the customers in a relaxed atmosphere. In the future,
more efforts will be made to increase exchanges with the tenants, provide even
better services and ensure the success of the DRC renovation project.
