To respond to
the call of the HSC trade union and create a platform of exchanges for the trade
union members, the Property Management Department of the Sanlitun DRC, together
with the trade union of the AIIB Project Office, organized a hiking trip at the
Chaoyang Park, Beijing, on 24 June. The senior executives of the Department and
the Office attached great importance to the success of the event, as Hu Botao,
Sanlitun DRC Manager, Jiang Chenbo, Sanlitun DRC Deputy Manager, and Feng
Cheng, AIIB Project Office General Manager, all took part and led the staff on
a walk for better health and self-image.
The event took
place on the 6-km-long walking route in the park under a blue and sunny sky. As
the participants assembled, a race began along the tree-lined walkway. The
participants walked while taking selfies and chatting with each other, and the
90-minute hike didn’t make anyone feel tired at all. The fast walkers
encouraged the slower ones, offering them tips on how to do more exercises and
making the whole tour amiable, fun, relaxed and invigorating. The first five
walkers to reach the finish line were presented with awards from the trade
union and all the participants received souvenirs, who hoped such multi-department
event could be organized regularly for increased exchanges and communication.
The event was a successful
trial of organizing cross-department activities, and the trade union workers had
mad e careful preparations for the event by selecting the route, taking a test
walk and holding discussions on logistical issues. During the event, the union
officials from the Department and the Office coordinated actions to effectively
ensure safety of the walkers. After the event, the union workers met and held discussions
on the experiences gained and deficiencies to be avoided in the future. Under
the leadership of the corporate trade union, the department-level trade union
workers vowed to make greater efforts to organize more and better events for
the union members.
