New Chancery of Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Opens

  The Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay hosted the opening ceremony in front of its new chancery in Beijing at Section A, Liangmaqiao DRC, on 7 June, 2016. Mr. Rodolfo Nin Novoa, the visiting Foreign Minister of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay and Mr. Yuan Weimin, Director General of the BDS, Mr. Zhang Yue, General Manager of the HSC, and Mr. Jiang Qiang, General Manager of the DPSC, as well as officials from relevant departments of the HSC and theDPSC participated in the event at the Embassy’s invitation. 

  In his address, Mr. Yuan expressed his warm welcome to the visiting Foreign Minister of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay and congratulated him on the opening of the new chancery. He continued to say that there have been good relations of cooperation between the BDS and the  Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay over the years, as the BDS responded readily to the Embassy’s request for chancery expansion. He pledged that the BDS would continue to provide quality service to the Embassy and add impetus to the development of China-Uruguay relations.

  Minister Novoa thanked the BDS for the assistance provided to the Embassy and disclosed that with the enlarged premises, the number of Embassy staff would double, as friendly exchanges and bilateral relations between the two countries would be expanded and lifted to a new level.

  After the speeches, Mr. Novoa and Mr. Yuan jointly unveiled the Embassy plaque and cut the ribbon. 

  The Embassy extended its appreciation for the all-out efforts this Department has made to meet all the requirements regarding venue arrangements, parking control, safety, security and housekeeping services in order to ensure that the ceremony was held successfully.
