Mr. Liu Yong, Deputy
General Manager of the HSC, paid a visit to the Beijing Duty Free Shop for
Diplomatic Missions and St. Regis Hotel Beijing, together with Mr. Feng Cheng
and the customer service staff from the AIIB Project Office, on 3 March, 2016,
for a discussion on improving the value added services and promoting BDS
resources to the AIIB.
Mr. Peng Shenfu,
General Manager of the Duty Free Shop, warmly welcomed Mr. Liu’s team and said,
as his store took an active part in the AIIB project tender bidding process,
and efforts would continue to be made to implement the “Duty Free Goods Pickup”
service described in the bidding document. Mr. Liu thanked the Duty Free Shop
for its support for HSC’s AIIB project, and pointed out that, the Duty Free
Shop is one of the strong components of the BDS, and provides service that is
unique among our fellow service providers and should be introduced to the AIIB
in a vigorous manner.
The AIIB Project
Office briefed the Duty Free Shop officials on the project operation, AIIB’s
duty free goods requirements and the pickup service handling process. The two
sides exchanged views on how to facilitate the duty free goods procurement and
promote the hot items to the AIIB customers. Despite the fact that the AIIB has
signed the Host Country Agreement, the central and local customs authorities
have yet to provide clear policy guidance concerning the official and private
procurement procedures. The two sides agreed that the AIIB executives should go
visit the Duty Free Shop when convenient to advise on their specific
requirements for more targeted commodity promotion and publicity. Moreover, the
discussion went further on how to speed up the process of providing the pickup,
dutiable commodity display and door to door delivery services. In addition, the
AIIB promised to continue choosing items for its clients reach-out and
conferencing activities from the Duty Free Shop for mutual benefits and win-win
results. The discussion came to a close in a cordial atmosphere.
It was recently
announced that that the AIIB would host an international conference for some
300 participants, requiring conferencing and hotel services, and the
Liangmaqiao Diplomatic Office Building and St. Regis Hotel Beijing were
recommended for that purpose and attracted strong interest from the AIIB. In
this context, Mr. Liu took the AIIB visitors to the St. Regis Beijing, after
the tour of the Duty Free Shop, to conduct a discussion on accommodation and
hotel services for the participants. Mr. Chen Hui, Deputy General Manager, and
Mr. Li Zhigang, Director of the General Office of the St. Regis, participated
in the discussion.
Mr. Liu pointed
out that, being the first China-initiated international organization with 57
member states, the AIIB was of great importance. A large number of
international conferences, receptions and other events will be hosted in the
future in the hotel. As the St. Regis is fully equipped and boasts a strong professional
experiences in hotel services, it is hoped that the two sides would step up
cooperation in making use of the BDS resources. Mr. Chen briefed the visitors
on St. Regis’ housekeeping service and resources and expressed willingness to
work with the AIIB and offer the best possible service at the most reasonable
price.
Upon conclusion
of the talks, Mr. Liu gave his appreciation for the work of the AIIB Project
Office and told the staff to work together more with the BDS subsidiaries and
promote the BDS services and resources to the AIIB. His comments brought the
visit to a successful close.
