Traditional clients experience the traditional culture of old Beijing

      The start of the cold and windy winter and Beijing’s cloudy weather could not resist the enthusiasm of tenants who actively participated in the activity of November 29 2014. The Qijiayuan Property Management Department organized a "Day Tour of the Qianmen Gate" event for diplomats tenants of the DRC. Diplomats from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Pakistan, Iraq, Sri Lanka and other countries and their families, more than 30 people in all, attended the event.

      At 9:00, amid laughter, the bus left the Qijiayuan DRC to arrive at the first stage of the activity, Zhengyang Gate. After listening carefully to the guide, the tenants, visiting the exhibition halls of the Zhengyang Tower,were able to have a better understanding of the historical development of the Qianmen Gate area, and also personally experience a "Qing fashion show."

      At the bottom of the tower began the second stage of the activities - visit the Beijing Madam Tussauds Museum in the Qianmen Pedestrian Street. The Beijing Madam Tussauds Museum, opened in May of this year, highlights the political, economic and cultural personages that have had an influence on China and the world. During the visit, the tenants have shown great interest in dignitaries and sports stars of all countries, and each of them took a group photo with their favorite celebrity, cherishing the opportunity to get close to their idol. At the same time, visitors were also able to recognize Chinese personalities they hadn’t know before as well as the history and culture that lie behind them, for example,Mei Lanfang, the Peking Opera Artist, Yang Liwei,the first Chinese going into space, Cui Jian,the godfather of Chinese rock music, and others. In addition, through equipment and special accessories of the museum, tenants also enjoyed an "in-depth interaction" with their idols.

       After a tour of nearly two hours, tenants arrived at the third stage - Xianyukou Gourmet Street, where there are many old renowned brands. Taking into account the eating habits of the tenants, the Property Management Department carefully selected "Kaorouji", one of those old brands, as a place for lunch, which not only highlighted the traditional characteristics of the old Beijing but also showed respect for the tenants’ religious traditions. After lunch, the tenants boarded one of the vehicles with the typical characteristics of the Qianmen district, the "Dang Dang car ", which gave them, along Qianmen Street, a taste of the rich corporate culture of old Beijing. This, together with the Bank of China, Tong Ren Tang Pharmacy, Ruifuxiang Silk Shop and other centuries-old houses, made them feel the changes and progress of the times.
