【2014.11.24】St. Regis Beijing successfully held 2014 Christmas Lighting Cere

On November
21st, 2014, a grand Christmas Lighting Ceremony of St.Regis Beijing
was held in the Garden Lounge.
Under the
invitation of the Hotel, Mr. Qian Hongshan , the Assistant Minister of Foreign
Affairs Ministry and Mr. Max Baucus, the USA Ambassador to China attended this
ceremony and jointly lit up the Christmas tree. Meanwhile, more than 800 guests
at home and abroad from embassies, hotel and the media witnessed this wonderful
moment together.
On the
ceremony, Mr.Qian and Mr. Baucus both delivered speech. Mr. Qian said that
though he no longer took the position of BIC Chairman of Board, he still held a
deep attachment to BIC and the St.Regis Beijing, so he took the invitation with
delight to attend the ceremony with Mr. Baucus. Mr. Baucus said in his speech
that he regarded the St.Regis Beijng as his “Second Home”. After reviewing the
past and looking to the future, Mr. Qian and Mr.Baucus jointly pressed the lighting
button. The glittering Christmas tree lit up the whole garden. The hotel
especially prepared red wine, turkeys and sweet-smell Christmas food for the
guests. In the singing of Junior Choir, the Santa Clause brought candies and
presents to children. The ceremony was full of Christmas atmosphere.
The
Christmas Lighting Ceremony is one of the many classic St.Regis traditional
rituals. It was first introduced to Beijing in 1998, and has lasted for 17
years.
Mr. Yuan
Weimin, the Deputy General Director of Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic
Missions, Mr. Gu Zhongjun, the General Manager of BIC and other senior leaders
also attended in the ceremony.
