Tayuan DRC Offers Handicraft DIY Class

Nearly 30 diplomats from Japan, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, among others, gathered at the Function Room of Tayuan DRC with families to take a handicraft DIY class on 19 April 2018, to follow the coaching of Mina, budget manager from the Jiaojian Company.

The event opened at 13:30, as the coach started instructing the learners in silk flower making. With consideration to the fact that the learners never had any previous experience, the lesson began from the very basics of tool using, fabric shaping, pistil making and petal fixing. Under the guidance of the coach and DRC assistants, the learners made rapid progress, as blossoms of varying colors and shapes emerged from their fingertips. Some of the learners were so creative that they made head decorations of their own design that won applauses from their fellow novices. 

Tea and refreshment were prepared for the learners who also had the opportunity to decorate their chosen cakes with mousse icing. Seeing their own achievements – silk flowers and self-decorated cakes – the participants’ faces bloomed into broad smiles and they took out cell-phones to take pictures of the joyful moment. 

To ensure the success of the event, the DRC Property Management had held numerous rounds of discussions over the procedures and details and made full preparations in terms of raw materials, tools and venue arrangement. 

The DRC tenants were encouraged to apply for participation through the Bank of China E-Community App, as a move to further raise the customers’ awareness and to-door tutoring was offered to newcomers in the DRC. Eventually, 13 tenants succeeded in signing up by using the App and, with encouragement, increasingly more customers will have the chance to experience the convenience of the online service. 

The DIY class served as a platform of friendship building through fun and self-discovery in handicraft training. Classes in healthcare and dancing will be offered this year and, with common efforts of all the property management staff, more customer-connection activities will be organized for more and greater fun, for sure.
