MFA General Office Inspects Fire Prevention Work at LDOB

    On 2 February, Yang Yirui, Deputy Director General of the General Office, Li Rui, Deputy Director of the Security and Confidentiality Office, and Jiang Wei, Director of the Fire Prevention Group, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) took a fire prevention inspection tour at the LDOB in advent of the Spring Festival. Su Wen, Deputy Director General of BDS who is in charge of security, Guo Lifeng, Director of Security Department, BDS, Zhang Yue and Liu Yong, General and Deputy General Managers of HSC, as well as senior officials from the Fire Prevention and Security and Property Management Departments of Liaomaqiao DRC met with and accompanied the inspectors.

    At the meeting between the two sides, Mr. Su gave an overview of the BDS security work, emphasizing the great attention paid by the BDS and HSC leadership to fire prevention and security work, and said that proactive steps had been taken to enforce the fire prevention and security rules and establish the “accountability system”. Constant efforts had been made to proceed with the fire prevention and security related work in all phases in accordance with the fire prevention and security task list and to ensure safety in general terms by adhering to highest standards, meeting strict requirements and enabling creative thinking. In the meeting, Mr. Yang pointed out, as a security standard bearer of the MFA, the BDS security staff and employees on all levels had made tremendous contribution to the country’s diplomatic cause with solid and effective work. He hoped that the BDS would continue to stay alert and make ceaseless efforts to do an even better job in safeguarding the diplomatic undertaking under the “new normal”. Mr. Zhang Yue gave a brief presentation on the business operation of and the fire prevention and security efforts made by the LDOB, and Zheng Tao, Director of Liangmaqiao DRC Property Management Department, briefed the inspectors on the LDOB fire prevention system and tenants archive.

    Upon conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Yang and his team embarked on an inspection tour of the building including the Multifunction Room, Central Control Room, Power Distribution Room, Fire Pump Room, Heat Exchange Station and auxiliary commercial facilities. The inspectors paid close attention to the details, posed questions about the operation of the facilities and personnel-on-duty, and conducted a leakage test at the Central Control Room.

    Mr. Yang and his team gave their recognition to the LDOB for the sound management system, tidy machine rooms, optimal security archives and meticulous emergency response arrangements, expressing satisfaction with the LDOB fire prevention and security situation in general.

    As the Spring Festival is around the corner, the HSC will continue to make efforts to do a good job in respect of fire fighting and security work in its precincts to ensure the safety of the DRCs .
