On 3 February, Liu Yong, Deputy General
Manager of the HSC, together with executives of the Fire Prevention and
Security and Property Management Departments, paid a visit to the soldiers of
the 14th, 13th, 3rd and 17th Squadrons
of the 17th Detachment of the Armed Police Force to enhance the
military-civilian ties by presenting them with the New Year greetings.
The visitors were warmly received by the
soldiers and conducted cordial conversations with the squadron officers.
Mr. Liu thanked, on behalf of the HSC, the
soldiers for their contribution to the DRCs’ safety and security in the past
year, pointing out that there was a profound affinity between the HSC and the 17th Detachment. Year 2015 saw an increasingly complicated international security
situation and pressing anti-terrorism needs and the security service providers
faced unprecedented challenges under the new circumstances. The squadrons’
officers and soldiers worked together with the DRC staff and employees in a
devoted and seamless manner and made tremendous contribution to the security
and stability in the DRC precincts. He pledged that the HSC would make
concerted efforts and keep in close touch with the squadrons to enhance
coordination, so as to leverage their respective strengths meet the common
challenges and promote common development.
The squadron officers thanked the HSC for
the visit, saying that the soldiers had been given a great deal of help from
the HSC in the past years and would, on the basis of the existing good ties
between the two sides, make coordinated efforts to elevate the
military-civilian relationship to a higher level, and spare no effort in
safeguarding the DRC stability and assisting with accomplishing any tasks as required.
