2016-01-08 15:30:29

On the evening of October 30, 2015, a warm opening ceremony of the Halloween party was held in Section C of Liangmaqiao DRC by the Liangmaqiao Property Management Department and the US Embassy. Lin Li, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Housing Service Corporation for Diplomatic Missions, Kennan Watt, the housing officer of the Embassy of the United States, and the heads of relevant departments were invited to attend the party.

Halloween is a traditional festival in Western countries, and on that night, people wear disguises and children carry pumpkin-lanterns going from door to door to ask for a gift. This Halloween party was aimed to promote mutual understanding between the Property Management Department and the tenants from the US Embassy and allow foreign residents to feel the homelike warmth in the DRC.

The programs for the evening were brilliant with a lively atmosphere and warm interactions. The moderator introduced the participants of both sides. And then, cheered by everyone, three excellent dancers took the stage to offer two extraordinary Hawaiian dances, raising the party atmosphere to a climax. The Property Management Department staff had also decorated the space and the gates with strings of lights, lanterns and colored paper-cuts, filling the auditorium with an Halloween atmosphere.

This harmonious encounter between the East and the West cultures and the spread of the traditional Chinese culture were entirely the essential purposes for which customer activities are organized by the Liangmaqiao Property Management Department. On that night, the Property Management Department also specially invited Professor Ma Jingru of the Central Academy of Fine Arts to give a live demonstration of traditional Chinese painting. To facilitate the interaction between customers and staff, the Property Management Department also prepared lanterns and blank masks on which children could paint pictures. With the vivid imagination and under close supervision of Professor Ma,the children created stunning works.

On that night, a variety of dishes were also carefully prepared for customers and guests, such as pasta with shrimps, German sausages, salads, wines, fresh fruit and others. The children were eating and playing and the parents, with their hands full of food and drinks, were chatting around high tables while our staff was constantly watching the scene without the slightest relaxation.

The Halloween party for the Liangmaqiao Property Management Department and the Embassy of the United States ended with a success amid laughter. The event has  enriched the tenants’life, allowed them to feel at home in China, and promoted mutual understanding between the tenants and the Property Management Department. In the future, the Liangmaqiao Property Management Department will continue to organize more cultural activities to enhance mutual trust and understanding, provide better service to tenants, and build a better DRC.
