The afternoon of November 2, 2015 saw a late autumn cool day though the
warm sun was still shining. Under the joint auspices of the Military Attachés of
the Embassy of India and the Ta Yuan Department of Property Management,
celebrations of the traditional Indian festival "Diwali" were held in
the Ta Yuan Auditorium. The wives of 4 Military Attaches of the Embassy of
India participated in the event, and the wives of the Military Attachés of the Embassies
of Argentina, Chile, Canada, Japan, Germany and the United States also were
invited.
The "Diwali" can also be considered as the Indian New Year.
Every year, October and November mark the end of the hot season of summer and the
beginning of the cool season, the most comfortable one in most parts of India.
This is why the Indians consider Diwali an auspicious symbol of happiness. At
that time, every home in India decorates to joyfully celebrate the holiday
season.
At the event, the traditional Indian cuisine and colorful drinks dazzled and tempted the participants. Emphasis was placed on the promotion of Indian customs in order to showcase this ancient and mysterious country. What impressed people most were Indian dances offered by the wives of Military Attachés dressed in traditional Indian costumes and supervised by professional dancers. The event went on very smoothly, thanks to cooperation between the Military Attachés’Section of the Embassy of India and the Department of Property Management. The success of the event could also be attributed to the effective communication between Gao Limei, the administrator of the Department of Property Management, and some ladies of the relevant embassies, and the careful preparation of the Property Management Department for providing equipment, setting up the scene and maintaining the order on the site. After the event, the Military Attachés’ Section of the Embassy of India expressed sincere gratitude to the Ta Yuan Property Management Department for organizing the event and expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation the future.
