Online Cuisine Class: A New Mode of DRC Client Activity to Understand Chinese Traditional Culture

Centering on the diplomatic service work, the Tayuan Property Management Department constantly puts into practice the fundamental requirements of "Telling China's story and spreading China's voice well" proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping. On May 24, it launched the “2021 Tayuan DRC Online Cuisine Class”, aiming to enhance clients’ loyalty and enrich their home life. 20 clients from nearly 16 international organizations and embassies in China, including that of Canada, Kazakhstan, Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Children's Fund participated in the event.
The Tayuan Property Management Department fully tapped the existing resources to prepare for this event and specially invited Jiang Zehui, leader of the central control class of Tayuan Office, who has national professional qualification and has served as a professional chef in many embassies in China, as the cuisine class tutor. Considering the various eating customs, preferences and cooking capabilities of the participants and with the purpose of promoting Chinese cuisine culture to the greatest extent, the representative “black pepper beef” was selected as the main course.
Under the background of the post-epidemic era in 2021, the Tayuan Property Management Department vigorously created a new mode of customer activities. In order to implement the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, many activities were carried out online. The “Wechat service platform for Tayuan DRC clients” was designed for registration and promotion. A new online teaching mode was created by recording cooking demonstration videos and posting them on the network platform. For the sake of a better participation experience, the staff carefully selected cooking ingredients and distributed the concocted sauce to each participant before the event.
The busy daily work did not dissipate the great enthusiasm of diplomats for Chinese food. High-level diplomats such as the EU Minister-Counsellor, the Serbian Counsellor, the First Secretary of Zambia and the Spanish Military Attache enthusiastically signed up and embarked on a gourmet cooking journey with us! In just a few days, cooking photos and videos shared by participants came one after another. In order to make the seeds of Chinese traditional culture take root among the diplomatic clients, the Tayuan Property Management Department struck while the iron was hot, giving books on Chinese traditional culture and gourmet to the diplomats as a gift. The participants expressed their love and thanks for this activity.

Online cuisine class is a new exploration of how to continuously carry out various forms of client activities with the normalization of epidemic prevention and control. Making full use of network resources, the Property Management Department built up a platform for DRC residents to understand Chinese traditional culture and enrich their life. In the future, the Property Management Department will continue to be creative in exploring diverse forms of client activities, adhere to the purpose of “cooperating with diplomacy and serving diplomatic corps”, and create a more wonderful international community.
