2021 Dragon Boat Festival Celebration at Qijiayuan Diplomatic Residence Compound

On June 11, the“2021 Dragon Boat Festival Celebration”was jointly held by the Qijiayuan Property Management Department and Xiushui Community Committee of Jianwai Street atthe Qijiayuan Diplomatic Residence Compound. More than 40peoplefromover10 families from the Embassies of the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and other countries came to attend.

The interactive experience is indispensable to the success of cultural celebration activities. The Dragon Boat Festival Celebration was carried out under three themes:“Folk Activities”,“Dragon Boat Festival Culture”and“Winter Olympic experience”. In order to increase the attraction of the event, experience programs such as rolling iron rings, shaking diabolos, weaving Dragon Boat Festival colored ropes and dryland curling were set up. In the face of these“novel”activities, families from all over the world participated with great interest.Withiron rings ringing and diabolos flying up and down,the fierce competition atmosphere was intertwined with children's laughter,depicting a microcosm of a cheerful, pluralistic and harmonious international community.

Promoting Chinese culture and telling Chinese stories is one of the main orientations for Qijiayuan Property Management Department to carry out various client activities. In recent years, Qijiayuan Property Management Department has actively joined hands with communities to take advantage of government resources incombining intangible cultural heritage with new civilization around traditional festivals such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival, and carried out a number ofclient activities that were both interesting and culture-embodied. Such activities havebeen widely praised by diplomats of various countries, allowing them toexperience the charm of Chinese culturein person. In the future, we will continue to carry out such work and strive to build Qijiayuan into a platform for foreign affairs activities and a window for cultural exchanges, so as to addradianceto the development of foreign affairs services in the new era.
