DRC-Japanese Community Table Tennis Friendly

The Japanese tenants are one of the groups of stable customers in the DRC over the years, known for politeness, generosity and trustworthiness. The DRCs have received wide acclaims from the tenants for having presented a series of PR events of diversity and originality. A number of Japanese corporate customers have made requests to enhance relationship and deepen friendship with the DRC through sports games. 

Therefore, the DRC Property Management organized a DRC-Japanese Community Table Tennis Friendly at a sports school adjacent to the Temple of Heaven in southern Beijing on 11 April 2018. 4 teams from the DRC and well-known Japanese corporations, NEC, Toshiba and KDDI, took part in the event. Ms. Jiang Qi, DSB executive deputy director general, took lead of the DRC team. Mr. Zhang Lei, director of the Beijing Badminton and Table Tennis Center and concurrent head coach of the Beijing Table Tennis Team, was very generous by providing the competing arena, judges and catering free of charge, on top of being present at the matches to offer advices and comments. 

Before the competition began, Ms. Jiang delivered a welcoming speech in Japanese to thank for the presence of the participants. She introduced Mr. Zhang by disclosing the fact that the Beijing team’ head coach had trained and turned out world champions like Zhang Yining, Ma Long and Ding Ning, among others. She also informed the competitors that the venue used to be a place of player for good harvest of the emperors in the old days and the enthusiasts were lucky to have their games in there. She wished the contenders would give their best performance in the competition and, before finishing, she revealed that table tennis training facilities would be constructed in the Qijiayuan and Jianwai DRCs and tenants were most welcome to make use of them to improve their skills.

Then the match between the DRC and Japanese teams started amidst the cheers and applauses of the spectators. All the competing teams demonstrated extraordinary talents and skills, for instance Mr. Ohara, NEC general manager, and Mr. Yu from Toshiba. Though opponents in the arena, they became close friends when the game was over. Eventually, it was the DRC team that won the top honor, followed by teams Toshiba, NEC and KDDI. The Beijing Youth Sports Game champions staged a demonstration match to showcase their superb skills and professionalism.

As the event was drawing to a close, the senior Japanese executives said that the friendly offered the participants a thrilling chance to exercise and make friends. They looked forward to entering into more communications and cooperation with the DSB and HSC in wider areas and on deeper levels and contribute to China-Japan friendship. Moreover, they said it was a great honor to come into close encounter with Mr. Zhang Lei, who was an idol of the Japanese table tennis fans because of his spectacular skills. They hoped the DRC would open sports facilities where the tenants could train and compete to experience the appeal of table tennis. This Property Management Department will make efforts, as always, to elevate the quality of service for the benefit of the customers with the DRC-fashioned devotion.
