AIIB Project Office Marks International Women’s Day

Although the International Working Women’s Day was initiated on 8 March 1857 already, it did not receive global acknowledgment until the UN’s recognition in 1975. Along with the changes over the ages, the slogan of the day has evolved from Bread and Roses to Bread, Equality and Freedom.

To present our greetings to the AIIB lady employees on this particular day has become a ritual. To showcase our professionalism, fresh flowers were handed out to the AIIB employees, women or men, for all to share the pleasure. 

At 7 a.m., bouquets of tulips were laid out in the lobby, as our employees waited for the arrival of the AIIB staff. Blooming into broad smiles when stepping into the building, the ladies picked up bouquets of their choices and took photos to remember the delicious moment, whilst the males passing by merely continued on their way to the lift. Nonetheless, as they were told, “Although it is a special day for the ladies, you are also blessed and welcomed to bring flowers home to your ladies”. The men thanked us for the pleasant surprise profusely, regarding it as a token of caring love and consideration. 

Some AIIB staff disclosed that the potted plants they received last year were still thriving in their offices and the revelation was massively satisfying to us, as we got to know that our blessings and greetings had kept them company throughout the year. The staying power of the plants resembles our commitment to keep up professionalism and offer better services.
