Confidence Building for Common Development and Win-Win: International Club Building Construction Project Briefing
2016-11-30

Since October 2015, the construction work of the new International Club Building has affected the living and working environment of the Jianwai DRC tenants and particularly the daily operation of the affiliated shops in the Media Center.

To increase the tenants and shop owners’ awareness of the construction project progress,  alleviate their confusion and boost their confidence in our ability to tackle the temporary problems and create a better future for the area, a briefing and thank-you event was held on 27 October at the Media Center Function Room, together with the International Club and under the auspices of the top BDS and HSC executives. Zhang Lijian, Yin Youqiao, Gao Shang and Li Qiang, Chairperson and General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Project Director and Oeration Supervisor of the International Club respectively, and Liu Yong, Deputy General Manager of the HSC, together with some 130 representatives of the Jianwai DRC tenants and shop owners, took part in the event. The conference was a great success and achieved extraordinary results.

Beginning formally at 11 am, Zhou Yong, Jianwai Media Home Manager, acted as the moderator of the event by introducing the senior executives and guests of honor, greeting the tenants on behalf of the Property Management Department and briefing them on the conference agenda.

Zhang Lijian then took over the podium to speak to the audience, addressing them as “neighbors” in Beijing dialect, thereby warming up the atmosphere. He observed that, as next-door neighbors, the International Club and Jianwai DRC shared a common customer base, working together in contributing to China’s diplomatic endeavors by providing services to the DRC dwellers. His remarks laid down a good foundation for the success of the event.

Gao Shang briefed the audience on the construction project progress, thanking them for their understanding and patience. She laid out the construction priorities in detail. Dividing the construction process into 10 stages covering a period from 15 November, 2015 to 2 August, 2018, she elaborated on the problems caused by the project, which include the noise, dustiness, site lighting, traffic jam and construction safety and have been affecting the tenants living environments and arousing their concerns. She, on the basis of the problem analysis, briefed the guests on relevant counter-measures addressing all problems caused in the whole construction process. The thorough explanations served to ease the tenants’ worries and concerns. The tenants noted down the key points and breathed sighs of relief as the presentation continued.

Li Qiang took the floor to inform the audience about the benefits that the we will have after the construction is completed, stating that the extra-large office space and top-class facilities of the new International Club Building, the currently “big construction site”, would create a novel landmark adjacent to the DRC in Beijing beside the Chang’an Avenue to best suit all needs of the world top multinationals

The participating tenants thanked the HSC for offering the briefing that gave them a comprehensive picture of the project as well as the high quality day-to-day services provided by the Property Management Department. They said they were more than ready to work hand in hand with the HSC for win-win and common development, looking forward to increased cooperation. The briefing helped remove the concerns of tenants and shop owners over the construction project problems and the tenants became confident in having a better environment in the future. At the end of the briefing, the audience took group photos to memorize the moment, which brought the event to a successful conclusion.
