A Tour of the Media Center: Jianwai DRC Welcomes New BDS Employees

To introduce the new employees to the recently renovated Jianwai DRC, the BDS Personnel Department organized a visit on 11 August, 2016 for the new BDS employees to tour the Media Center and affiliated stores. The orientation tour was a complete success, thanks to the careful and meticulous preparations and arrangements made by the Property Management Department of Jianwai DRC.

The reception team of the Jianwai Property Management Department greeted the novices at the DRC entrance at 4 p.m. and the visitors were immediately awed by the Jianwai Media Center which looks spectacular, asking questions about the building. The Property Management Department employees, while giving answers, led the visitors into the function room of the Media Center where a presentation on the basic information and work priorities of the DRC was delivered.

Xu Yuan, Deputy Director of the Personnel Department of the BDS, made an opening speech, thanking the Property Management Department for attaching importance to the orientation program and for giving a warm reception to the novices. Liu Qing, Manager of the Property Management Department of Jianwai DRC, extended his warm welcome to the new employees on behalf of the Department and made a presentation that left an deep impression on the newcomers for his strong passion and rich experience as a DRC executive. He recounted his team’s ceaseless efforts in delivering professional and extraordinary user-experiences to the diplomatic clientele, following the BDS motto of “Supporting China’s diplomatic endeavors and serving diplomatic missions” as well as promoting HSC’s corporate culture of “Respect, Devoteeism, Innovation and Open-mindedness”.

Mr. Liu welcomed the new employees to come to work for the BDS and the HSC and said, blessed with vigor and passion, the young people would be the BDS’ future. He said he was sure that the BDS and the HSC would offer good chances for them to showcase their talent and tap their potentials in the career development process and make their dreams come true. He hoped they would follow the BDS and the HSC guidelines, work together with the senior colleagues, promote the corporate culture of Respect, Punctuality and Devoteeism, and make down-to-earth, dedicated, ambitious, responsible and courageous efforts to contribute to the BDS and HSC development.

Zhou Yonggang, Manager of the Media Home of Jianwai Media Center, provided a comprehensive and easy-to-understand overview of the Jianwai DRC, particularly the Media Center, with numerous photographs and concise descriptions.

Before the tour drew to a close, Xu Yuan thanked the Jianwai DRC again for the careful preparations and said she hoped the newcomers would devote themselves to their jobs with practical efforts, as the BDS would definitely create more opportunities for them to showcase their talent and make contribution.

Following the orientation session, the visitors were led to tour the manicure shop, fitness center, China Unicom store and China-Canada kindergarten as well as the central part of the Media Home where the newly completed mural painting and uniquely designed “Wall of Butterflies” won great admiration from the visitors.

In order to achieve the best results of the orientation program, the Property Management Department of the Jianwai DRC made thorough preparations and arrangements beforehand, with assistance provided by relevant housekeeping, maintenance and security staff. The success of the event is one more testimony to the good quality of the DRC conferencing services and the employees’ good morale that helped make the tour a pleasant and enjoyable experience for all the participants.
