When A Basketball Tournament Strengthens Friendship: the Fourth Friendly Basketball Match Held by the Qijuayuan Department of Property Management

  As part of Phase II of the Qijiayuan DRC Renovation Project, the basketball court that has accompanied the residents for decades will be demolished before the end of the year. As one of the traditional activities of the Qijiayuan DRC, on May 13 afternoon, the Qijiayuan Property Management Department organized the Fourth Friendly Basketball Tournament. The event was the last friendly basketball tournament before the completion of the renovation project, and had a special meaning for the Property Management Department and tenants .

 Before the tournament began, the customer service staff of the Property Management Department had actively carried out the preparatory work, requested He Yanjing and Zhang Zi, the Managers of  Qijiayuan Project Department of Aojie company, to officiate as referees and invited residents to participate in this farewell tournament. Enthusiastic residents responded en masse to the invitation and formed a total of four teams. More than 30 people, including one from the “Basketball Kids” team from the Embassy of Sri Lanka, got registered to participate in the competition as well. To foster a closer friendship between the DRC and the tenants, the Property Management Department had, on this occasion, assembled a joint team, as a sign of unity and cooperation.

 After a rainy day, the sun was brightly shining on the perfect basketball court on Friday. The referees whistled and the competition started. On the court, the players showed agility and courage. The excellent atmosphere of the competition has also attracted the interest of tenants, who cheered for the players. Each perfect coordination, wonderful interception, and splendid goal triggered waves of applauses of enthusiastic cheerleaders that surrounded the field. This compound, usually quiet and elegant, seemed to be suddenly filled with a summery enthusiasm, thanks to this exciting competition.

 In this friendly basketball tournament, players have showcased their highest-level skills, and harvested above all simple and sincere friendship. Each team took a group photo and everyone will remember these beautiful pictures. The Property Management Department leaders sent their congratulations and offered commemorative prizes to all tenants who participated in the competition.

 For the tenants, the Qijiayuan basketball court helps them recall a lot of good memories: older people doing slow and soft tai chi on sunny mornings, children playing on happy afternoons, people making a quiet late-evening stroll after a hard day of work, and young residents playing basketball, badminton and other sports at ordinary times. The court is like an old friend, with whom the tenants have long lived in close relationship. However, the renovation project is designed to provide a more beautiful environment in the DRC with more upscale amenities. After the successfully held information sessions on the Qijuayuan Renovation Project Phase Two, tenants have had a comprehensive understanding and increased awareness of the new facilities and new equipment. It is indeed time to say goodbye to the basketball court, and the proposed "Qijuayuan overhaul" project will bring new surprises. Tenants can expect a better experience of working and living in the DRC. The Property Management Department will always stand with the tenants to look forward to a better compound.
