Dance Performance of the Scottish University of St Andrews - The First Show in the Multipurpose Hall of the Jianwai Media Center

At 19:00 on November 27, 2015, through close communication between our Department and the performers and with meticulous preparations, a St Andrews University dance party was organized successfully in the Jianwai Media Centre Multipurpose Hall.

Founded in 1413, the University of St Andrews is one of the leading public research universities. It is located in the beautiful birthplace of golf - the city of St. Andrews on the east coast of Scotland. It is the first university in Scotland, and also the third oldest university in the English-speaking world after Oxford and Cambridge.

The Alumni Association of St. Andrews chose the Multipurpose Hall of Jianwai Media Centre as a place for their show, reflecting their preference for the DRC's unique political and social status, the Jianwai Media Center's privileged location , the Multipurpose Hall's sound system and auxiliary equipment, the building's upscale environment and our professional and meticulous service.

 The event of that night was the first occasion on which the Multipurpose Hall was put in use, and was co-organized by our Department and the Alumni Association of St. Andrews. The Scottish John Stewart Band was invited, and the leading dancer was a master teacher of the Association of the Scots. The team put on a very authentic Scottish-style performance. The lively Scottish music echoed on the scene with warm lighting, giving the whole place a very Scottish feel. With the help of the service staff, technical staff, cleaning staff and security staff, the guests could enjoy the performance fully.The service personnel helped the guests with drinks and the hanging of their clothes. The engineering staff took care of the sound equipment volume setting when needed. The cleaning staff removed wastes from time to time for guests. The security personnel were on duty at the entrance. The team of the Jianwai DRC ensured the smooth running of the event which ended in joyous laughter.

The event was an excellent opportunity for our team to hone their skills and accumulate service experience. This high-end international activity was also the first show for the Multipurpose Hall, offering a perfect start and laying the foundation for its future activities and reputation.
