BDS Holds 2025 Client Appreciation Reception of Diplomatic Missions

On December 19th, Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions (BDS) successfully hosted “Elegance and Grace of National Treasures: An Elegant Tribute to You” Client Appreciation Reception at the Multifunctional Hall of Liangmaqiao Diplomatic Office Building. Zhou Xisong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director-General of BDS, attended the event. 12 Ambassadors and Chargés d'Affaires from  Ireland, Panama, Cyprus, Italy and Sudan etc, as well as nearly 200 diplomats and their family members from over 40 diplomatic missions and international organizations in China also attended the event. All attendees exchanged heartfelt views on friendship and cooperation, and enjoyed an immersive experience of the unique charm of Peking Opera, the quintessence of Chinese culture.

Director-General Zhou Xisong Delivered a speech at the reception,  he expressed gratitude for the long-standing trust and support from the diplomatic missions in China. He elaborated the comprehensive, high-quality and warmhearted BDS’s system for diplomatic and foreign affairs service , and outlined the prospects of the construction of the Fourth Embassy Zone, the launch of new serviced apartment and the development of public diplomacy activities. He stated that BDS will actively uphold the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, continuously promote its service standard, and provide more professional and comprehensive service support for the work and daily life of diplomatic missions in Beijing.

Ambassador of Panama to China thanked BDS for its consistent care, support and assistance to diplomatic missions in his speech. He commended BDS for building a platform for cultural exchanges and mutual learning with Peking Opera as a cultural media, and expressed the expectation to work together with BDS and all diplomatic missions to actively promote cultural exchanges and strengthen friendship.

Fuliancheng Peking Opera Troupe, a time-honored brand of Beijing, was specially invited to perform at the event. A Peking Opera art interactive session was also arranged, where diplomats, accompanied by professional performers, painted Peking Opera facial masks with their own hands and experienced the classic performing skills of Peking Opera, including hand gestures, eye expressions, bodily postures, rhythmic movements and stage gait. The interactive atmosphere on site was very warm and lively.
