Having a long history and brilliant civilization, the Chinese nation with 56 ethnic groups created colorful and precious Chinese culture. The music culture of ethnic minority groups is an important component of the music culture of the entire Chinese nation.

Keen on dancing and singing, ethnic minority people often sing joyfully in their social life and entertainment. Quite a number of ethnic minority areas are reputed to be the land of songs and music. With unique history and cultural background, ethnic minorities created and inherited outstanding and diversified music styles and highly expressive musical instruments, most of which are on the list of national intangible cultural heritage (ICH).
 

Starting from 2022, LCC will present concert series featuring the most representative and artistically unique masterpieces of ICH music of ethnic minorities. Both Chinese and foreign friends will be able to appreciate the indigenous music at LCC Music Hall, get to know various musical instruments, and communicate with the artists.
 

The concert series not only present, among others, heavenly music from snow-capped plateau and Mongolian long tune, but also soul singers of the Yi ethnic group and the nature sounds of the Lahu ethnic group. Coming from marvelous nature, ethereal and simple music like these brings back inner peace and recaptures the best that life has to offer.
 

The premiere will take place on February 24 when JOY CONCH from Tibetan plateau will present a concert of ICH music. Integrating traditional Tibetan Buddhist Chanting with folk music and modern music, JOY CONCH showcases the thousand-year-long art and culture with the charming music.
