Heart Warming Love

The HSC recently received a letter from the
Donggezhuang Village, Bulaotun, Miyun District, in the hope of having our help,
saying that it is a little hamlet next to the Miyun Reservoir that is listed as
1st Class Protected Area by the municipal government. Since 1958,
the livelihood and economic development there have been confronted with
tremendous difficulties, as the villagers are only allowed to carry out limited
farming activities whereas they may not raise animals, develop industry, such
as tourism, because of the government policy to ensure the hygiene and safety
of the drinking water of the municipal residents as well as lack of arable
land. Their per capita income per year is below RMB11160 and is recognized as a
low-income village by the municipal government. The 154 households are in need
of electric appliances and it is hoped that HSC could offer some aid in that
respect.
To answer president Xi Jinping’s call of “Provide
help to the impoverished to improve their livelihood” issued at the 19th CCP National Congress and showcase our sense of corporate social
responsibility, the HSC leadership instructed the Supply Center to make a plan for
the aid. Upon receiving the words, action was immediately taken to select from
the used appliances in the DRCs, which were tidied up and fixed to ensure that
they were in sound conditions to be delivered to the village as soon as
possible. The items were packed up and loaded onto the truck in the night of 28
December 2017 at the warehouses at Dongba and Jianwai.
Early next morning, the Supply Center
employees went to the village with the appliances. Zhang Ying, Supply Center director,
handed the donated items over to the villagers in behalf of HSC, comprised of
47 TV sets, 18 refrigerators and 35 microwave ovens, making the total 100.
The
villagers thanked the HSC for presenting them the New Year gifts shortly before
the festival, saying that the appliances would not only provide convenience to
their daily lives but also warm their hearts profoundly. The Supply Center team
told them that the HSC leadership attached tremendous importance to the event
and it was hoped that the gesture would help improve the villagers’ livelihood in
a tangible way.
