Liangmaqiao DRC Undergoes High-rise Building Fire Hazard Inspection

To meet the requirements put forward by the High-rise Building Fire Prevention Conference of the State Council and directives of the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction, State Administration of Safe Production Supervision and municipal government of Beijing, the Liangmaqiao DRC Property Management received a joint inspection team led by senior officers of the fire fighting authorities of Chaoyang District and local fire station to check on the fire prevention measures and facilities at the Liangmaqiao Diplomatic Office Building and Residential Compound. 

Taking their mission very seriously, the inspectors paid close attention to every detail of the fire fighting measures and facilities, ranging from the fire control room record, patrolling activities, affiliated business’ counter layout and staff cafeteria kitchen, conferencing area emergency pathway, DRC building and compound evacuation signs, fire hydrants’ operability to the fire extinguishers functionality, looking for potential hazards and shortfalls while exchanging with each other.

Upon conclusion of the inspection, the joint team gave its acknowledgement to the Property Management’s fire fighting preparedness, from the hardware deployment and routine maintenance to the staff positioning, recognizing DRC’s competence to putting out fire in the beginning stage. Nonetheless, they also pointed out some shortcomings, for instance, the mini-fire station required augmentation and facility testing and staff training be enhanced, to meet the requirements for effective control and the outdoor fire hydrants’ switches were too scattered to enable quick response in the case of emergency and real danger. 

The exposure of deficiencies by the joint inspection require comprehensive and thorough improvements, as more than making the hardware better, efforts will be made to step up fire control training, on a regular basis, and communications with the fire fighting authorities to ensure the absolute safety of the DRC with concerted endeavors.
