On August 26, Assistant Minister Xu Feihong of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the "Water Rhyme·New Voyage" diplomat cocktail party as well as the Liangmahe International   Waterfront Cruise Event, which were hosted by Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions (BDS) and co-organized by Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Chaoyang District Government, CITIC Bank, China Symphony Orchestra and iFLYTEK Co. Ltd.  Mr. Li Li, Director-General of BDS, Wu Xiaojie, Deputy Secretary of the Chaoyang District Party Committee and Acting District Governor, Meng Rui, Deputy District Governor, and other ambassadors and senior envoys from more than 50 countries including Uruguay, New Zealand, Slovenia, Mauritius and the Comoros attended the meeting.

Assistant Minister Xu Feihong expressed warm welcome, in his speech, to the envoys who have long been committed to Sino-foreign friendly cooperation, and thanked Chaoyang District for its support and assistance to the country's overall diplomatic endeavor.  Mr. Xu pointed out that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on ecological civilization, Beijing and Chaoyang District have actively practiced the overall layout of the "five-in-one" socialist cause with Chinese characteristics, and the international waterfront of Liangmahe has become a beautiful shining star in Beijing international exchange center.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will strive to meet the needs of the diplomatic missions and to promote the development of the Jinzhan International Cooperation Service Area.  At the same time, the Qijiayuan Diplomatic Office Building built by BDS is becoming an "international meeting room" which provides comfortable working & living conditions for the diplomatic missions in China.  He hoped to work with all the envoys to open “a new voyage to know China", and to play an active role in China -foreign diplomatic relations for building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Wu Xiaojie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Acting Governor of Chaoyang District, appreciated the strong support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BDS and the diplomatic missions in China, and would further enhance the international business environment in Chaoyang District to better optimize "China's first foreign-related district".  

Uruguayan Ambassador to China Lugas expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Foreign Ministry for the exchange platform for diplomats to get to know China, and thanked BDS for its long-term support and assistance.  Over the past few decades, Beijing's ecological environment has been continuously improved and Chaoyang District has become more and more international. He hoped that all the diplomatic missions in China would work closely with all parties to create a better tomorrow.

At the event, Chinese and foreign guests also communicated closely on the planning & development of the embassy area and the diplomatic compounds. The envoys considered that the diplomatic event was excellently organized and the Jinzhan International Cooperation Service Area and the upcoming Qijiayuan Diplomatic Office Building fully demonstrated the wisdom of the East with Chinese characteristics, and this cruise event themed at "working together in the same boat" better reflected President Xi Jinping's ideology of building a "community with a shared future for mankind".

The event was jointly organized by the Public Relations & Sales Department of the Housing Branch and the Liangmaqiao Property Department, who worked closely together under the guidance and coordination of the company's leaders to ensure the smooth arrangement of various details with a full play to the advantages of cooperation in mobilizing internal & external resources and coordination. In the early stage of preparation, Director-General Li Li communicated frequently with the leaders of Chaoyang District and agreed that the Jinzhan Township International Exchange Center and the Qijiayuan Phase II project along Chang'an Avenue are important projects to strengthen its function in international exchange center.   A coordination meeting was held by the deputy governor of Chaoyang District together with other 21 governmental and commercial units so as to guarantee for the smooth proceeding of the event in a good atmosphere of concerted development and cooperation.
