To build more friendly and closer relationship with and offer quality and all-round services to foreign diplomatic missions and offices of international organizations in Beijing, and in collaboration with BMW (China), “A Night for Diplomats”, an outreaching party, was held at the St. Regis Beijing on the evening of 29 June 2012. Top executives of the Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions (BDS) Mr. Qian Hongshan and Mr. Wang Bingnan took part in the event together with some 100 senior diplomats and Ambassadors of 20 countries including Tajikistan, Croatia and Sierra Leone.
Mr. Qian, Director General of BDS, at the beginning of the event, delivered a welcome speech, saying when the BDS was celebrating its 50th anniversary some 400 senior diplomats, including 100-plus ambassadors, extended their cordial greetings. He said, foreign diplomatic missions and diplomats have also provided the BDS with their understanding and support in respect of BDS’ day-to-day work, of which he was sincerely appreciative. He continued to say that the BDS has made efforts to increase the depth and expand the scope of its services by creating numerous new service items and building an inclusive and efficient platform of communication. He appealed to the envoys for valuable comments and suggestions to enable BDS to deliver services of higher quality. Mr. Qian’s sincere address was applauded warmly by the guests. The artistic performance began following Mr. Qian’s speech, and the dancing and instrumental pieces constituted a gorgeous feast of culture drawing rounds of cheers and applauses from the guests who enjoyed the delicacies on the tables. Mr. Qian and Mr. Wang proposed toasts to and exchanged views with the diplomats present on enhancing friendship and seeking common development.
The success of the event further enhanced the BDS’ friendly relationship with the diplomatic missions and created a cordial, pleasant and light-hearted environment to better publicize the BDS’ new services and motto of “Serving Diplomatic Missions and Enhancing Friendship”.
