Regarded as the quintessence of China, Beijing Opera is an artistic form representing aesthetic habit and cultural tradition of the Chinese nation. It is a vivid reflection of the Chinese character of being reserved, steady and elegant.

The lecturer will introduce the history, type of role, acting and theme of Beijing Opera by way of pictures and videos. During the lecture, actors will present four episodes, Drunken Beauty, Sitting at the Palace, The Case of the Emperor’s Son-in-Law and Jiang Gan Stole the Letter.
