Having been a prestigious Chinese and French language teacher for more than 30 years, Professor Yu Qilong is also widely acknowledged for his great attainments in Beijing Opera, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, the presentations he gave on traditional Chinese culture were very well received among foreigners. In 1996, Professor Yu was awarded an honorary medal from the French government.
