Tradition, competence and attention. Three words which describe effectively the Beijing Language and CulturalCenterfor Diplomatic Missions, informally LCC, where I attended my Mandarin Chinese Summer Program with the aim to refresh my written and spoken Chinese. The professors Shen, Ren, Wang, Chen, Zhang, together with all the staff led me through an intensive, very interesting and 100% tailor-made course about Chinese language for fashion and design industry, field in which I have been working with great passion since a few years. The theoreticallessons were accompanied by readings from Chinese fashion magazines and educational tours to interview interesting characters of the artistic Pekinese scenery, including Mr. Wang Shun Tai of the Garment Department of the Comprehensive Service Corporation for Diplomatic Missions and the famous painter Ms. Tao Hong. During my studies in China, I had the opportunity to study in a several number of institutions of great prestige, but without a shadow of doubt, in any of these I breathed a so positive, international and professional atmosphere as at LCC. A great French thinker, long time ago said "enseigner, ce n'est pas remplir un vase, c'est allumer un feu.” Perhaps he studied Chinese at the LCC!
