On 17thOctober 2013, the Launching Ceremony of European Go Players Training Programme was held in Beijing Language and Cultural Center for Diplomatic Missions (LCC). Mr. Wang Bingnan, Deputy Director-general of BSBDM, Mr. Martin Stiassny, President of European Go Federation, European Go players and Go coaches of China Qiyuan participated in this ceremony.

Deputy Director-general Wang Bingnan gave a speech. He said, European Go Players Training Programme is jointly supported by LCC, foreign diplomatic residence compounds and the insurance company of BSBDM. LCC specializes in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and cultural exchange. Go players training programme is part of cultural exchange. In these years, LCC attaches great importance to language and culture exchange as well as the comprehensive development. Hopefully in the future, under the guidance and help of China Qiyuan, more and more European Go players may participate in this programme so as to enhance the cultural exchange between China and the European countries.

On 23rdSeptember 2013, the first group of 5 European Go players started the intensive training on Go skills and Mandarin in LCC, which will last for more than 5 months. These Go players came from Germany, France, the Netherlands and Ukraine. Some media including Go Magazine, Go TV.com and E-magazine of BSBDM reported this event.
