BDS Recommendation

    At the end of 1961, the first leading group of the Bureau was established. Since the Director General position was then vacant, Geng Biao and Wang Bingnan, the two former Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs were put in charge of Beijing Diplomatic Personnel Service Bureau, i.e. the predecessor of BDS. Li Ping, Secretary of the Bureau’s Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director General, presided over the work of the Bureau.


    In Sep. 1966, Zhang Yue was appointed as Director General;

    In Aug. 1970, Xu Huang was appointed as Director General;

    In early 1978, Guo Ying was appointed as Director General;

    In Apr. 1983, Meng Yue was appointed as Director General;

    In Mar. 1984, Xing Songyi was appointed as Director General;

    In May 1989, Wu Tao was appointed as Director General;

    In Mar. 1993, Liang Anjiu was appointed as Director General;

    In Mar. 1996, Zhang Limin was appointed as Director General;

    In Jan. 2003, Qu Wenming was appointed as Director General;

    In Mar. 2008, Qian Hongshan was appointed as Director General;

    In Jul. 2015, Yuan Weimin was appointed as Director General.
