Junior Trade & Investment Assistant

Location: Beijing, China
Salary: 10,000 RMB – 15,000 RMB per month (competitive, based on experience)

Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) China is part of the Pacific Trade Invest global network, the Pacific Islands Forum’s trade and investment promotion agency. We work to connect businesses from the Pacific Islands with opportunities in China, fostering sustainable trade, investment, and partnerships.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Trade & Investment Assistant to support our Export Manager and Investment Manager in delivering PTI China’s mission. This an entry level position designed for someone eager to learn and grow in the field of international trade and development.

You will play an important role in supporting Pacific exporters, investors and Chinese partners through client engagement, market facilitation, trade show and logistical support.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist Export and Investment managers with client and customer communications (email, Zoom, WeChat, etc.).

· Provide administrative and logistics support for trade and investment shows, exhibitions, and events.

· Facilitate buyer–seller and investor-investee connections and follow-up communications.

· Conduct basic market research on industries, products, and investment opportunities.

· Support trade missions and in-market visits, including scheduling, logistics, and coordination.

· Maintain databases and assist in preparing reports, presentations, and meeting briefs.

· From time to time the Trade Commissioner will request logistical and administrative support when needed.

Skills & Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in business, International Trade or similar.

· Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and spoken) is essential.

· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online platforms (Zoom, WeChat, etc.).

· A positive, professional attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

· Availability to travel across the Pacific region and China when required.

· Background in trade, business, or investments is an advantage, but not essential.

· A good understanding of Pacific Island economies, challenges, and export sectors is a bonus.
