Summary of Duties / 工作职责 :  

 

Under the direction of the Senior Maintenance Technician, the Specialized Technician provides specialized repairs and technical maintenance services in ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for all mission and/or crown owned or leased assets and equipment. This includes:

· Plans and prepares preventive technical maintenance programs and provides guidance and training in the area(s) of expertise; 

· Provides technical expertise and responds to requests requiring specialized installation, technical maintenance, and repairs

· Provides technical advice and recommendations to management on work to be done when doing periodic inspections for maintenance purposes

· Oversees and inspects the work of contractors and maintenance technicians to ensure compliance with professional codes, national/local standards, plans, contract and manufacturer’s specifications, and manages the schedule to ensure all tasks are carried out within the requested period. 

· Performs other duties as required.

Essential Qualifications / 必备条件：
Education / 教育:

· Secondary vocational education and above, OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience with maintenance of the HVAC trade

· Working proficiency in Mandarin (written and spoken)

Experience / 经验:

· Minimum 5 years direct experience in HVAC and boiler operation and maintenance

· Working experience in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating in business places such as office buildings, shopping malls, and supermarkets, and be able to handle common problems independently

 

· 须拥有五年以上空调系统和锅炉系统运行维护的直接工作经验

· 须具有在写字楼、商场、超市等经营场所空调、制冷、供暖工作经验，能够独立处理常见问题

Rated Requirements / 选拔要求  

Knowledge / 知识:

· Knowledge of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating

· Knowledge of boiler systems

Abilities/skills / 技能:

· Ability to maintain and repair all HVAC equipment and components to manufactures recommendation, i.e. valves, motors, belts, bearings, filters, and lubrication etc.

· Ability to replace bearings and seals on circulation pumps, change bearings on fan systems, motors and pumps shafts.

· Ability to resolve unexpected issues or failures of cooling and heating equipment

· Ability to formulate and implement equipment maintenance plans, seasonal maintenance plans, and formulate spare parts procurement plans

· Ability to read schematics and mechanical blueprints

· Ability to work in confined spaces

· Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (22 kg)

Valid work authorization: Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period. The mission can only facilitate working visas for Canadian citizens
