VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

 The Embassy of Brazil in Beijing is seeking eligible and qualified applicants to fill in 2 (two) vacancies of Administrative Assistant for the position of Senior Interpreter/Translator (Portuguese-Mandarin and/or English-Mandarin).

 

Main responsibilities:

 

•  translating documents, technical texts, official communication letters and other messages in Portuguese-Mandarin and/or English-Mandarin;

 

• providing Portuguese-Mandarin and/or English-Mandarin interpretation service at meetings for Brazilian diplomats and other officials;

 

•   maintain contacts with local government and institutions;

 

•   other tasks designated by the Embassy.

 

Qualifications required:

 

• high degree of proficiency in Mandarin, Portuguese and/or English, written and oral;

 

• knowledge and experiences in professional interpreting and translation;

 

• domination of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office.

 

Monthly remuneration: RMB 20,521.60, including gross salary RMB 15,429.92 and bonus RMB 5,091.68.

 

Brazilian, Chinese and citizens of third countries can apply for the position. Applicants should prove the following requirements to participate in the selecting process:

 

  •  regular situation of residence in China and legal permission to exercise remunerated activities in case of Brazilians and nationals of third countries (under the legislation of the People's Republic of China);

 

•    physical and mental health report (attestation signed by physician);

 

•    university degree certificate;

 

•    minimum age of 18 years;

 

•    certificate for lack of a criminal record or equivalent;

 

 • certificates or proof of progressively professional experience in translation area.

 

 

Brazilian applicants, in addition to the above requirements, should be up to date with the military enlistment (in the case of male candidates) and with the electoral justice; and should also present declaration of no occupation of public positions, jobs or functions.

Date: 12^th-13^th March, 2018

Place: Embassy of Brazil in Beijing.

 

Each test will be evaluated from 0 (zero) to 10 (ten), according to the candidate's performance. Candidates who have obtained the first two highest overall score in the written test and interview will be selected.

 

The final result will be published on the Embassy’s website: http://pequim.itamaraty.gov.br, on 14^th March, until 18:00. In case of impossibility of assumption of the position by the best-qualified candidate, the following one will be called according to the order of the final result, which will be valid for a period of 12 (twelve) months.

 

A one-year (twelve months) employment contract will be signed with the Beijing Personnel Service Corporation for Diplomatic Missions, with  possibility of renewal for the same period. Successful candidates are expected to start working from 2^nd April 2018. The first month will be the probationary period.
