The U.S. Mission in Beijing is seeking an eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Travel Supervisor. |

Duties: |
The Travel Supervisor serves as the FSN supervisor of the General Services Office (GSO) Travel section serving over 30 agencies and assisting four Consulates. Is responsible for interpreting complex governmental and airline travel regulations to ensure employees are using their travel entitlements properly and their individual travel needs are met. Must be able to obtain a Contracting Officer’s Representative (FAC COR) Level 2 certification for the purpose of monitoring the on-site travel agent to ensure they are fulfilling their contractual obligations and are providing a high level of service to Embassy employees. Ensures on-site travel agent invoices the U.S. government in a timely and accurate manner. Prevents fraud through thorough analysis of travel transactional activity. Maintains important relationships with airlines, hotels, and other travel related contacts. Works closely with the GSO VIP unit to ensure high-level visitors travel needs are met. Prepares standard and ad hoc travel reports for GSO as required. |

A minimum of College or university studies is required |
Requirements: |

EXPERIENCE: |
A minimum of five years’ experience in business, customer service or travel related experience is required. One additional year of supervisory experience is required. |
JOB KNOWLEDGE: |
Detailed knowledge of US Government and Chinese travel regulations and forms. Detailed knowledge of international and local travel industry trends and policies. Knowledge of travel budget and Embassy fiscal policies and procedures. Must be knowledgeable of post specific Administrative policies. |

LANGUAGE: |
English Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) and Mandarin Level 4 (Advanced Proficiency) (This may be tested.) |
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: |
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and other computer software and skills required. Strong interpersonal skills in order to deal tactfully with a variety of embassy personnel. Ability to develop to and maintain effective contacts in the travel industry. |
Qualifications: |
