PACIFIC TRADE INVEST CHINA

Pacific Trade Invest China (PTI China) is the lead trade and investment promotional agency of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat based in Beijing, China. It is part of the global PTI Network with offices in China, Australia, Europe, Japan and New Zealand and mandated by Pacific Forum leaders to develop and promote Pacific Islands Exports and Investments in China. PTI China provides services to 16 Pacific Island Countries and states: Cook Islands, Fiji, FSM, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

 

The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opening for a new Marketing and Communications Manager

to join our team.

 

Core purpose of the Role:

The role is designed to manage and implement all aspects of the Marketing and Communications strategy from all key programs at Pacific Trade Invest China. The role combines the activities and successes of PTI China to share on with its target audiences in both China and the Pacific Islands.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Review and update the Marketing and Communications strategy for PTI China

· Develop a communication plan for key program events to promote the event and oversee its implementation

· Provide support to the Trade Commissioner with writing and of content for monthly and quarterly reports. There may be a need to produce annual reports

· Write and issue media releases that promote PTI China’s activities and success stories in both China and the Pacific

· Work with Marketing & Communications Coordinator to develop a social media plan including channel updates and oversee implementation

· Provide content for website and social media channels (Wechat, Weibo, Red Book, Tik Tok etc). To some extent may be need experience in Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Twitter etc.

· Build and develop relationships with key media outlets, agencies and journalists in both China and the Pacific with a special focus on stories that relate to the Pacific

· Work with Marketing & Communications Coordinator to provide content for the PTI China’s website.

· Produce high quality newsletters, briefings, speeches, presentations, publications and videos

· Stay up to date with emerging digital trends, new channels and opportunities to strengthen PTI China’s presence digitally

· Provide support to the Trade Commissioner of any writing, content creation and publications

 

Skills & Experience: 

· Strong written and oral language and communication skills in both English and Chinese

· Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

· Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media

· The ability to use CRM systems

· Understanding of the media and communications environment in Pacific Island Countries would be helpful but not essential

· Must be competent in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.

 

Education:

· A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or digital marketing or a related discipline and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in a related field

Languages:

Exceptional / advanced skill in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
