VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: Full-Time Head Chef for Diplomatic Chief of Mission Residence
Salary: RMB 216,750 per year
Qualification requirements:
-
A minimum of five years experience working as a chef in an international five-star hotel or equivalent
-
A minimum of two years of supervisory experience
-
Ability to make quality food consistently in a busy kitchen
-
Ability to communicate clearly and set standards and expectations for day-to-day operations of the residence
-
Ability to work under stressful conditions, delegate tasks to kitchen staff, and make quick decisions
-
Be able to manage budget and work with figures
-
Strong leadership skills
-
Proficient in spoken and written English preferred
Job Description:
Primary Duties:
Supervisory Responsibility
-
Directly manage four ORE Staff: two sous chefs and two wait staff
-
Works with Residence Manager to arrange work schedules of chefs and wait staff to ensure sufficient coverage of routine and special events
-
Works with Residence Manager to set up detailed job descriptions and service standards for chefs and wait staff
-
Designates responsibilities to chefs and wait staff based on job descriptions and regularly inspects results
-
Works with Residence Manager to review performance and identifies issues for future development and improvement of chefs and wait staff, and take necessary corrective actions regarding performance requirements
-
Works with Residence Manager to interview and hire new chefs and wait staff as required
-
Provide and organize skill-related trainings for chefs and wait staff on proper service standards and procedures, for all aspects of food and beverage related duties
Food Preparation
-
Oversees the food at the Employer’s residence. Ensures high quality professional food presentation appropriate for both every day and official functions
-
Advises and oversees chefs regarding meal plans and food presentation
-
Create and tests new recipes
-
Creates meal plans. Works closely with Residence Manager for advance menu planning
-
Maintains a log of all official menus
-
Sets and works within budgets
-
Sets tables and helps serve at dinner parties, receptions, or other representational functions
-
Participates in the purchasing process and closely follows market prices and availability
-
Oversees setup of dining area: table layouts, seating cards, floral arrangements, silverware, etc. Applies set-up systems from high-quality hotels
-
Prepare and serve meals to the occupants and guests as needed, and acts in accordance with protocol order
-
Works with Residence Manager to plan ahead for official functions and major U.S. and Chinese holidays
-
Coordinates and oversees specific functions or tasks related to all aspects of food and beverages for the residence
-
Greets and escorts guests at official functions
Additional Duties:

Assists with other embassy events in various locations around Beijing as directed by Employer/Supervisor.

Performs other duties as assigned by Employer, Employer’s spouse, or anyone designated by Employer.

按照合适的服务标准和流程来指导厨师和招待员。

培训厨师和招待员关于所有餐饮方面的工作。

协助官邸经理提供适当地指导、培训和绩效管理,确保厨师和招待员能够很好的完成工作。

协助官邸经理组织厨师和招待员进行工作技能培训。

协助官邸经理纠正员工不合适的并影响工作的行为。
食品准备

管理雇主官邸食品,确保足够的高质量餐饮供给。

按照餐饮计划和食品报告指导厨师工作。

寻找和实验新菜品。
-
创新菜肴并协助餐饮经理提前设计菜单。

维护公务菜谱日志。
-
按照预算工作。
-
确保合适的食品报告。

在晚宴、招待会或其他个人活动中,提供餐桌布置和餐饮服务。

参与采购并对市场价格及货源情况进行密切关注。

按照高档酒店标准,监督餐厅布置:包括桌面布置、桌卡安排、花饰布置、银饰餐具布置。
-
按照礼宾规定,帮助员工按照宾客需求准备餐饮服务。
-
协助官邸经理策划公务宴请及美国和中国重大节假日的庆祝活动。
-
联络或监督官邸活动中餐饮工作。
-
在公务活动中,提供迎宾服务。
其他工作职责:

完成被雇主,雇主夫人或其他雇主所安排的其他工作。

根据雇主或主管要求,协助其安排在北京各地区举办的各项使馆活动
