Position Title: Beijing – CCCRO Coordinator and International Business Development Assistant, LE-06 (Anticipatory)

Starting Annual Gross Salary: RMB 142,464 (before tax and employee social insurance contributions; 13th month bonus and employer social insurance contributions are paid on top of the gross salary; salary is non-negotiable)

Area of Selection:
This position is open to external applicants residing in China and employees occupying an indeterminate or term position in China Missions who meet all of the essential qualifications and whose applications are received by the closing date. Short-listed candidates should be able to participate in tests and/or interviews in Beijing at own expense. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Beijing at own expense.
The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service is a world-wide network of professionals in international business development (IBD), with preferred access to business knowledge and contacts, who are committed to advancing Canadian interests abroad. These positions contribute to the delivery of the IBD program at the mission in accordance with the TCS Client Service Policies and Government of Canada policies for international trade, investment, and science and technology, with the objective of helping Canadian clients make better business decisions abroad.
Reporting to the IBD Generalist Officer, is the administrative and coordinating point of contact for the 10 Canadian Commercial Corporation Representative Offices (CCCROs) across China for matters related to the network as a whole. The position is also the focal point for an assigned reactive sector, which is not dealt with by any other member of the IBD Team at the mission. Responds to clients’/partner clients’[1] requests for advice and guidance on a variety of routine and/or urgent issues; and provides administrative services to one or more Officers.
Education:
·Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, OR an acceptableequivalent through the combination of education and work experience
Language:
·Proficiency in English (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
·Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
Experience:
·Minimum 1 year’s recent experience (in the past 5 years) in all of the following areas:
oExperience in international commerce
oExperience providing client service to internal and external clients (in companies or other government departments)
oExperience in working and liaising with government departments and officials
oExperience in office management and financial monitoring
Knowledge:
·Knowledge of international business (exporting, importing, investment, technology transfer, etc.)
·Knowledge of MS Office Tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Abilities/skills:
·Ability to write effective business correspondence in English and Chinese
·Ability to research, interpret sources of information and synthesize data to respond to requests for information from stakeholders
·Ability to perform translation from English to Chinese and vice versa

·Knowledge of relevant topics such as Canadian and Chinese science, technology, and innovation policies and programs; trade and investment business environment and practices; major areas and/or sectors of international trade; Chinese government and industry structures; and/or major economic and political issues

·Ability to obtain and maintain a valid working authorization in China. Per Chinese regulations, the Embassy / Consulates can only facilitate working visas for Canadian citizens
·Ability to obtain and maintain a valid “Reliability Status” security clearance
Operational Requirement:
·Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice as required
·Able to travel domestically and internationally as required
