Mr. Yuan welcomed Mr. Toumazis to have
arrived at his new post in China and informed him that it was the mission and
responsibility that the state bestowed on the DSB to offer satisfactory
services to the diplomatic missions in Beijing, including housing, human
resources, language teaching, catering, duty free shopping and car rental
services. Over the years, the DSB had taken an active part in the Public
Diplomacy by offering diverse cultural and sports events to boost amity between
the DSB and the missions, building platforms for the envoys to learn more and
deeper about China. Yuan invited the senior diplomat to take part in the
provincial visit and Night for Diplomats event to be organized by the DSB.
The new ambassador thanked Yuan for meeting him despite of his busy schedule and said that the courtesy call was a symbol of the high importance attached to the traditional bilateral ties between the two countries. He hoped that the two sides would keep closer touch with each other with more communications and cooperation. The ambassador gave his appreciation for the quality environment in the DRC and thanked Yuan for the caring services.
Also present at the meeting were Miss Lin Li, HSC deputy general manager, and Ms. Myrianthi Spathi, deputy head of the Cypriot mission in Beijing.
