Liangmaqiao DRC Holds First Ever Children’s Carnival
2018-07-18

As children are the future and hope of any community, let the DRC kids grow healthily and happily is the responsibility of every DRC worker. To add fun to the daily life of the Liangmaqiao DRC residents and offer them better experiences as well as marking the International Children’s Day, this Department, together with the Ivy Schools and Diplomat Magazine, organized the DRCs first ever children’s carnival on the afternoon, 2 June 2018, which was attended by some 200 revelers.

The potentially interested attendees were encouraged to make application through the Bank of China E-Community App online and, to further promote it, a special kiosk was erected at the site to inform the users of its convenience and easy access.

On the day of the event, the DRC was filled with a festive atmosphere, with smiling young faces and waves of laughter. The curtain to the celebration was lifted amidst the arousing violin performance, as two sisters from Vietnam were playing enthralling tunes ofLiang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, a love story. The most loved figure on the scene was proved to be the clown and kids were jumping up and down thrilled in the bouncy castle and trampolines. Caterers were invited to offer their stuff in the stalls, giving the children a chance to have a taste of a variety of goodies whilst having fun.

The Ivy Schools brought along a large number of teaching aids and toys to have interactions with the kids, assisted by the teachers from the International School. Basing on the youngsters’ personal choices, the teachers organized about one dozen games of handicraft making, fashion designing, natural sciences, rugby test, drawing book reading and artificial intelligence (AI), among others. The children were passionate about the games with the patient guidance and demonstration of the teachers and amazed by the Smart Car and VR shows, having benefited from gaining a broader perspective, higher enthusiasm and discovery of their potentials.

Pitifully, a time of good fun is always too short, as the children were obviously reluctant to leave at the end of the celebrations. Many parents commended this Department for having offered caring services with the well organized event and creativity. The celebrations brought the community closer, as the tenants who attended also made their presence on the DRC platform. The event made the residents more familiar with the Bank of China E-Community App, as 18 new users signed in. At the end of the celebrations, the attendees said they were looking forward to taking part in more creative activities of the DRC!
