Sanlitun DRC Property Management Holds English Language Tutorials for Security Staff

To ensure the quality of expatriate-oriented service and normal functioning of the Bank of China App for the tenants, Sanlitun DRC Property Management organized a series of tutorials for the security staff, from August to November 2017, lectured by Sun Xiao from the customer service. Zhang Ying, Jiang Chenbo, Zhang Zhanjun and Dong Zhihua, departmental executives, also took part in the tutorials together with the employees and other interested personnel, comprising some 30 learners. 

Mr. Jiang, the deputy director, delivered the opening speech to emphasize on the importance of English language in the DRC service and encouraged the participants to make devoted efforts in the learning to offer customers better services. 

Before the tutorials formally began, Sun Xiao made an attempt to learn about the security staff’s English proficiency and willingness to follow the program. Basing on the fact of a rather elementary starting point and the learners’ doubts about their learning ability, Sun decided to begin with the western traditions and customs with basic daily terms to boost the pupils’ confidence. Special attention was paid to choosing daily conversational terms for the security personnel to make it easier. A PPT document was particularly made for the tutorials.

In the classroom, the learners worked dedicatedly to repeat after the lecturer to improve their fluency. After class, they practiced with each other on the dialogues. A few classes later, most of the security staff began greeting expatriates in the compound on their posts or when patrolling. The DRC kids began liking to converse with the security staff and seek their help from time to time. The tutorials brought the security employees closer to the tenants, as the customers greeted by the guards and patrolmen in English were highly pleased with the novelty and acclaimed that it was leading the DRC to a more internationalized, professional and progressive future.

Though the tutorials for this year have come to an end, the Property Management will continue to find new ways to improve the employees’ training. Measures will be taken to keep their curiosity in learning and passion in their jobs to offer better service to the customers.
